In order to allow maximum flexibility and compatibility with available compilers for CPUs and Microcontrollers, it would be nice if the option to define a custom command line (maybe with certain parameters - such as output directory / filename) that can be used to invoke a currently not directly supported compiler. In this fashion, complex build processes can be executed (using for example "make") in order to generate the appropriate end-result file (HEX or COF or ELF). In general, I would like to advocate for investing more in better supporting an "open" way of integrating various 3rd party compilers and managing / viewing / editing source code for CPUs and micros.
